Believe and Speak

January 11th, 2024

2 Corinthians 4:1-7

Paul suffered greatly and was prepared for death around every corner, yet he did not lose heart. He continued to proclaim the good news day in and day out. How is that possible?

Sometimes we overcomplicate what it looks like to share what God has done. We think we have to be a pastor with a pulpit or possess a roller-coaster ride of a testimony for our proclamation to have any value. We even waste time pondering how to twist our stories of God’s revelation to make them more attractive.

Paul calls out these thoughts and behaviors by reminding us who illuminated our hearts in the first place: the God of glory himself manifested in Christ Jesus. This same God will give us the words to say through His Spirit. We can count on those words being transparent, truth-filled, and without deception every time. No testimony is too dull, and no frill or special authority is needed. Just believe and speak, and God will be glorified (v. 15).
