Marching to Zion!

Ecclesiastes 3:9-14

The idea that God set eternity in our hearts is fascinating. The one thing that our finite minds cannot fathom is infinity or eternity.

Eternity is not a logical formula; rather, eternity is a response of the heart to relationship. Sometimes, I wish that Scripture gave us more details about eternity. However, we are given glimpses of a beauty so fantastic that it exceeds the space of time. Every time I long for my girls or giggle with the joy of friendship or experience the deep goodness of family, I recognize this eternity for which my heart longs. As such, God invites us to be a part of eternity now; we don’t have to wait for the passage of death. We are called to embrace, relish in, and develop our relationship with God and with others. As we do so, we are taking part in the eternity of the kingdom of God.

This is the goodness of the coming kingdom, and Scripture is right:  All things do become beautiful in the fullness of time.
