Connected and in Control

Philippians 3:15-21
There’s an app my workplace uses to help track various aspects of a child’s day. I was recently on the website and saw the words, “connected and in control.” I don’t know exactly what this ironic phrase meant, but it made me laugh. With 13 three-year-old children, I don’t always feel like I’m connected or in control.
I’d like to think that if God had a website for every Christ-follower, those same words would appear near the top. After all, if we are in Christ, we are connected to Him by faith through His saving grace. If we are connected to Christ, He is in control. That’s good news for those who feel they are spinning in disconnected chaos. It’s also a message for those who are grasping desperately to the steering wheels of their own lives–it’s okay to let go!
Do you feel like you’re spinning out of control in disconnected chaos? By faith through grace your connection to Christ is secure and God is in control. Or, perhaps you’re desperately grasping the steering wheel of your life trying to control what happens next. Let go! God is truly in control.
