Acts 8:1-8

Acts 8 opens with the stoning of Stephen. The first martyr’s death sent shock waves through the church in Jerusalem. Did the church hunker down and wait for the violence to die down? Oh no! The Christians left Jerusalem running for their lives and scattered all over the world. They left the comforts of home with no forwarding address. There was a great deal of anxiety for the church. But there was a God in heaven who used them. God used their unsettledness to advance the life-changing message of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Have you ever been unsettled? Maybe you had a disruption that pushed you to the brink. Perhaps you were placed in a spot you did not want to be. Please know that even in the middle of a crisis, God can use your conduct to inspire others. People around you will take notice that you belong to the Lord.

When you are filled with the Holy Spirit and wisdom, the Lord will use your stable times as well as your unsettled times. No matter the times, allow the Lord to use you to share God’s love wherever He leads you.
