Ready and Waiting

Matthew 22:8-14
We all know how embarrassing it can be if we attend an event without the proper attire. I prefer not to go. I don’t like dressing up, taking too much time shave and fix my hair, makeup, or find the right pair of shoes to wear; I find this stressful. I will do it for my family and friends though, because I love them.
Imagine this poor man. He is being confronted as a friend by the principal host. Someone who has accepted the invitation, but didn’t follow the one requirement, is showing disrespect and dishonor to the family by not giving the time, effort, and investment to figure the right way to attend. Maybe he was all for the food, the music, the gossip, and the wedding gifts. He wasn’t ready because he was there for the wrong reasons.
How do we come before the Lord? Does it matter? The most important person is constantly inviting us. He wants us to be ready and well dressed to enjoy what He has prepared for us. Are you ready?
