It Has Come!

Mark 9:1-9
At this very moment, a short 10 miles up the road, a faithful brother in Christ lies in a hospice bed, taking his final breaths. He is ready to leave this earth for a grander view. But it is still hard to say “see you later” to the loved ones gathered round. To see their tears, to hear their cries, it is hard to leave behind all that he has here.
Why is that? Why is it hard to go, when what is to come is so much more than we could ever imagine? It is really quite simple. When we are alive in Christ our eternity does not wait to begin when breathing ends. It begins now. Here on this earth while we are living and breathing our eternity is at play and the beauty of the kingdom of God is already around us. It is in us.
These words of Jesus are now true for all who believe! The kingdom has come with power and is coming in all its fullness! What are you waiting for? Open your eyes, open your hearts! The kingdom of God is here.
