1 Corinthians 1:12-24

“Jesus is the Answer.” “Jesus died (by crucifixion) for you!” These are all true statements, but to the outsider and unbeliever, these statements may seem foolish.

How often do we try to see ourselves through the eyes of the unbeliever? Are we surprised when non-believers don’t understand us? Look at things from their point of view: it doesn’t make sense.

Paul was preaching to the Corinthians, both Jew and Gentile. The Jew could not fathom that the Messiah would come in the way that he did, much less die as he did. The Gentile, with their “many gods,” could not believe that the Son of the one true God was who he said he was: the only “way” to the Father. Paul continued on preaching Christ and him crucified in spite of the non-believers, allowing the wisdom and power of God to open their eyes in his own time.

Remember that while the world may not understand our message at first, we keep on preaching Christ crucified with the lives we lead.

I think the correct scripture reference is 2 Corinthians 1:12-24.
