Proverbs 10:6-17

A quick glance at the news today reveals no shortage of moral failure. The local politician whose indiscretions were revealed to be anything but personal; a prominent businessman seduced by the power that ultimately bankrupted him.

Rather than finger-pointing at wrong-doers or pronouncing judgement on social media, Christians can take advantage of the darkness around us by seeing it as an opportunity to shine Christ’s light even more brightly.

When we fix our eyes on the Savior, our focus is not on the darkness around us, but on the transformational Christ who set an example of righteous integrity for us to follow. As we become more like Christ, through the Holy Spirit, we reflect His love as a light to the world. What will be more attractive to those who don’t know Christ—grace or judgment? Jesus Christ answered this for us when he died on the cross. Christ died for our salvation not because we deserved it, but because God’s love is greater than our Sin.
