Hail To The Server

Mark 10:35-45

You may have heard it said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” From the commencement of his life and ministry, Jesus continually gave of himself. Right through the Gospels, we read of him performing miracles of many kinds. He taught with authority and preached the good news of the kingdom. The cross was the ultimate act of servanthood. He became the offering for sin by taking our place and paying the ransom by his blood.

Think for a moment of the number of times you have been served this year. What a joy it was just to be served personally. Jesus has served us, too, in many ways. He has given us his love. He has met our personal needs. He has brought us to this day.

Today as we end a calendar year, allow yourself to look back in retrospect and be thankful. Very often we take so much for granted. Be thankful for his constant provision.
