The Sending Lord

If the Lord saves you, He will send you. He may send you far away to other nations; He may send you down the street to your neighbors; but He will send you somewhere to someone who needs Him.
He may send you to bear the gospel message, as He did Saul. He may send you to live the gospel message, doing helpful things for troubled people, and building relationships that will open their hearts to Him.
A friend of mine, concerned for a single father and his growing boy, visited them to offer a ride to worship. Greeted at gun-point, he was ordered off the property. On a stifling summer afternoon, he returned, armed with a churn of homemade ice cream. That gesture of love melted the man’s heart and led to his conversion.
Jesus knew himself as one sent into the world by the Father. He said to His disciples, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you”. He is Lord. When He says “Go,” we can only reply, “Where?”
