Gloria Radiante de Dios

Abril 16th, 2026

2 Corinthians 3:12-18.

I recently read an article about a woman who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on plastic facial surgery. She wanted to undo the effects of time. For the next several years, she will enjoy the reversal and bask in her reclaimed youthful appearance. However, the day will come when she looks in the mirror only to discover that time played the long game, and her face shows the years once again.

That is the kind of change we are used to this side of the new creation: loss, decay, decline, deterioration. In our text today, we are given a vision of something entirely new: the inversion of everything we have ever known. In contrast to our physical bodies that show signs of wear and tear at an ever-increasing pace as we approach the grave, our spiritual self is being transformed more deeply and more completely into the image of Jesus.

As we turn to the Lord, day by day, we are healed more fully, freed more entirely, filled with the light of God’s glory more abundantly. And one day, when new creation comes, our tired bodies will be raised to new life with Christ and we will, from head to toe, radiate the glory of God.
