Your Choice

Matthew 26:36-44
God gives us freedom to use the wisdom He gives us. This wisdom comes from the presence of Christ in us. In James 1:5, we read, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
God has graced us with the freedom of choice. Determinism doesn’t make sense in the kingdom. It insulates us against the sensitivity of the Spirit. While God doesn’t determine our choices, He gives us wisdom and freedom in making choices.
Even Christ, in the time leading up to His death, wrestled with the choice. Christ was not mandated, ordered to surrender. Rather, Christ chose to love humanity through His life, death, and resurrection.
God, the Creator, hands the choices off to humanity. He said, “You go rule over the earth. You take care of my creation” (see Genesis 1:26-30).
In a holiness movement, there is curious, critical thinking based on the awesomeness of God. Let us be mindful of the freedom to use the wisdom God gives us.
