Sing The Wonders of God

May 29th, 2024

Psalm 73:10-20

Have you ever witnessed the process of gentling an animal that is wild or feral? A horse, or maybe a cat or dog that has not been around people very much and needs to be tamed. The first step is just getting the animal used to your presence so that you don’t spark fear.

Sometimes, the goodness of God can spark fear in us as fallen humans. It is uncomfortable to be reminded of our sinful nature, and we can’t help but be confronted by it when we are being measured up against perfection. Luckily for us, our Creator understands us intimately and knows our innermost thoughts.

Like a handler gentling an animal, God keeps us in God’s presence, guiding and loving us, until we are comfortable and loyal to the Lord. We are reminded that our purpose in life is to sing the wonders of God, for God is always faithful. We can lean on God and remain confident that all of our needs and desires will be met more fully than we could ever imagine, for God is good.
