I Told You So

2 Corinthians 11:24-33
Ever felt like saying, “I told you so” so badly that you had to actually bite your tongue in order not to allow those four little words escape your lips? Enjoying a well-placed “I told you so” is very tempting. Putting someone (who obviously refused to listen to your prior words of wisdom) in their place is an extremely human desire that can be difficult to resist.
The apostle Paul had a thing or two to say about being humble. In his second letter to the Corinthian church, he cautioned Christ-followers to not boast about the things that made them look good, but if they must boast, to do so about the things that made them look not so good.
By boasting of Christ’s power at work in us, our weaknesses are exposed, and His glory is allowed to shine through. Our goal as Christ-followers is to glorify God in all things. Consider taking the apostle’s advice and only boasting in your weakness, allowing Christ to be magnified in all things.
