When Love Comes Out

1 Corinthians 1:26-31
At the end of Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, he widens the lens a little from talking about unity. While we need to be unified in Christ and be fools in the process, it is God who authored it all. God chose. God chose a baby and a cross to reconcile the world. God chose 12 poor, unimpressive disciples to preach the gospel. God through Christ restored broken spirits and healed mangled bodies. Left to their own devices, humanity would choose to institute God’s kingdom through a military coup. God’s way is always wise. As creator of us all, God knew the only way to change hearts, minds, and lives was through love.
That is why Jesus lived among us. He showed us God’s wisdom by pouring himself out. We demonstrate God’s wisdom every time we choose love even when it makes no sense to the world.
