Love Looks Like…

Psalm 25:1-10
Love does not always look the way we want it to look. Our older son doesn’t always agree that our decisions are loving. Bedtimes, rules, chores, healthy boundaries, and reasonable consequences do not feel like love to him. However, they are one of the many ways as parents that we love our children.
Sometimes love looks like a grand party with lots of celebration and gifts. Sometimes love looks like being able to say “Yes” and do the desired thing; sometimes love looks like saying “No, not now,” or “I am sorry.” Sometimes love looks like being present with someone who is struggling, even when you cannot or will not change the situation.
Obeying the Lord’s commands is not always easy or popular. Sometimes God’s love looks like being present with us during hard times; sometimes God’s love looks like rescuing us from hard times. Either way, God is love. God is faithful even when we do not see it or understand it.
