Psalm 15:1-5
Have you ever been surprised by generosity? Think about how generosity made you feel. How did it change your situation or your outlook?
Psalm 15:5 speaks to us about a generosity that is grounded in compassion (lend money to the poor) and in good character (protect the innocent). It comes with a promise that compassion and integrity bring stability. At a deeper level still, we are to understand that loving others is foundational to who we become—the unshakeable ones. We live out our lives in love and the roots of our heart grow deep and strong.
Jesus showed us an extravagant love grounded in this compassion and character. We see the rootedness, the unshakeable core of Christ in the garden, on the cross, and standing outside the grave.
We all have resources we can share. Those resources might not be monetary or physical. However, we all have God’s grace that we can generously share. Give with love. As a reflection of Jesus, seek to live with love as your foundation.
