Wash Away My Sin?

Romans 4:1-8
Justification and righteousness are heavy theological concepts that have been tackled by theologians across the centuries. Many have ruminated, debated, prayed over, and shared ideas about justification and righteousness. Someone could write libraries on the concepts.
I see Romans 4:5 as a verse with a simplicity of faith. Trust God, who can do anything, including justifying the ungodly. I do not have to understand the nuances of God’s actions in justifying the ungodly; I have to faithfully trust that God knows what He is doing. Because we do not have a faith based in works, trust is truly relaxing and falling back into the arms of Jesus. We rely on the goodness of God and the love of Christ to meet all of our needs. We accept the gifts of God: forgiveness, salvation, and the journey of grace to wholeness.
