Eternity Has No End
November 26th, 2023
Ecclesiastes 3:9-17
Eternity is time with no end. That is a stretch for our imaginations because we are familiar with endings. Finishing is a goal of its own, whether a race, book, meal, or the commute home from work. Even life, the earthly portion at least, terminates. We prepare for an end to life on earth by giving our hearts to Jesus. We also hope to leave behind a legacy of love, for family and friends. As life-long stewards, we should prepare final documents to pass our blessings on to others and perhaps the church. We do not know how or when our earthly existence will come to an end, yet we are convinced of its certainty.
We are designed to last forever, but we are born into bodies that completely fail us after a few years. God sets the human heart on eternity.
Some say, “Heaven sounds boring.” Nothing could be further from the truth. We were meant to have a future, a forever future. We can count on our God, who is very creative, to make sure that there will always be something new to experience in heaven.
