Heaven Will Be Awesome

From the Bible we are blessed with glimpses of our future, but not usually with details or sequences. We can expect that our ultimate home will be full of new experiences and wonders. In 1876 Alexander Graham Bell was granted the first patent for a telephone. It was a world changing event and represented state of the art technology. Were it possible to return to 1876 and show Brother Bell a cell phone, he would have been in awe. Bell would have been left with more questions than answers.
In this passage, the Lord gives some glimpses and descriptions of a world that is unfamiliar to we earth-dwellers. Twenty-first century Christians are never going to quite grasp the wonders of heaven, until they experience them for themselves.
With every glimpse of heaven, God shows us something delightful. Pearly gates and streets of gold are just the beginnings. Christians can rest and be at peace about the future. It’s all good!
