God Desires All To Repent

2 Peter 3:8-15
Every day we wake up with a general idea of how we think the day will go. By the time the day is half over, we’ve often had to adapt our expectations several times. We make appointments, set priorities, and check schedules. We think we know the direction we’re going. Then life happens. We’re forced to flex our flexibility, adapt to the unforeseen events, and move ahead. The big question to consider at that point is this, “In the end, where will we end up?”
When the directions of our plans lead away from God, we need to repent and turn instead towards God. When it comes to our eternal destiny, we know the direction we ought to go. God wants us turn from our sinful, selfish, and destructive ways. His desire is for us to turn to Him, His ways, and eternity with Him.
Today let’s recognize God’s patience with us when we try to plan out our own destiny. Instead of chasing after our calendar of events, today let’s turn to the Lord and let Him guide us towards holy and godly living here so we can look forward to eternity with Him in heaven.
