Be Strong and Steadfast

1 Peter 5:6-11
1 Peter reminds us that the devil liked to pretend he is a lion, but he is really a snake. However we view him, he is our opponent (v. 8). When we resist him, God steps in and strengthens our faith.
These last couple of years have been a challenge, with a global pandemic, prices soaring, and some facing a financial or health crisis. Yet these challenges are not new. Peter wrote to the believers in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, “Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings” (v. 9).
We are not alone in our sufferings. Not only so, but Christians in many countries are suffering for their faith now. These early Christians went through times of suffering, but God was with them. He is with us, too. He will strengthen your faith. You can stand firm in Jesus against the enemy of your soul!
