Ephesians 4:1-13
Unity. There is perhaps no better witness to the Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence among the people of God than unity. Unity can mean the mutual appreciation for how we are differently made and how we live out those differences in submission to God’s call and in service to Christ and others.
The diversity of our gifts, as we work together and as we build up the Body of Christ makes us gifts to one another who are sourced out of God’s gift of salvation through Jesus. The unity of the Church is not conformity, but the redeemed life of people as God intended it. We find unity in the Trinity, and are unified by God’s grace.
Here are a few questions to ponder. How has God gifted you in this season of your life? To what is God calling you in terms of service and fellowship? Finally, is there an area of disunity around you? Consider whether God has equipped you and is calling you to somehow carry the unifying presence of Christ into that situation.
