2 Corinthians 4:11-18

We are a resurrection people. We believe in a Savior God who has overcome death, come back to life, and promises He will raise us again. Because of this, we do not need to fear death in any of its forms. We can rejoice that God is always doing new work, especially where there once was something old.

While this certainly applies to a physical death of the body, it also applies to other things as well. Sometimes, when our ministries and work are not successful, it can feel like a rejection from God and a failure on our part. It’s painful and sad, and those emotions can often overshadow the reality that, again, we are a resurrection people.

We can mourn the ending of something beautiful, but do so knowing that God works in death as well. The ending may actually be the first step in the rebirth and creation of something even more successful and glorifying to God. We must put our faith in the promise that He gave us, and “fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal,” (v. 18).
