Acts 26:1-11
Acknowledging our past can be a difficult thing for some of us to do, especially a past before Jesus. Paul knew this well.
Paul’s past was filled with legalistically following the law, and persecuting Christians. He says in verse 11, “I was so obsessed with persecuting them that I even hunted them down in foreign cities.” He shares this past with the leaders who have placed him on trial, not as a shameful admission of his past, but rather as a testimony to the transforming power of Jesus in his life.
Paul was able to communicate in a way that no one else could, because he used to be one of them.
Our past can be redeemed in much the same way. Our past isn’t something to be ashamed of, but rather is something to illustrate the amazing power of Jesus, a message we have the unique ability to share with the world.
Take time to reflect on your past and how the grace of God has redeemed it. How can God use your story of grace? Pray for God’s guidance in your interactions today.
