God’s Faithfulness

Acts 21:17-26
Looking back over four decades of full time pastoral ministry, there are many things I remember, but a few I’ve forgotten. I don’t remember all the special offerings. I cannot tell you every evangelist and what they preached when they visited. I can’t recall the games won by our church ball teams.
What I can remember are the spiritual experiences of good people. I recall leading a man to Jesus in North Carolina as he was threatening suicide. I remember the young couple saved in Nebraska after I had buried their little boy. I’ll never forget praying through with a young man outside his garage in Oklahoma. These experiences are forever embedded in my memory.
God called me to preach at the age of 21, the last thing I ever thought would happen to me. I’m so glad I listened to the voice of the Spirit and allowed Him to take me to places I would have never gone.
Paul was recounting his ministry as people praised God. As I look back over the years, I’m thankful I was obedient because He was, and is, so faithful to me. I praise Him today!
