Psalm 91:1-8
Trusting God is a fundamental act of faith as we go through life’s experiences. It is not easy! Answers to prayer are born out of a growing relationship with God; there are no shortcuts.
Prayer is an intentional activity of waiting in His presence while trusting His unseen presence. That is what the resurrection is about. The resurrected Christ sits at the right hand of the Father to make intercession for us (Romans 8:34). The resurrected Jesus is there when we seek God in prayer. Jesus is Lord and He identifies us as His own.
Our verse today is a promise. When we call to the Lord, He answers. When we have trouble, it is God who delivers. Please know that God will answer prayer in a way that is best for us. As we read verses 10-16, we will notice that even though the Psalmist is surrounded by an enemy, he is confident in the protection of God.
Today, as we wait for deliverance and answers to our petitions, we find the most encouraging phrase: “I will be with him in trouble” (v. 15). Embrace this truth as you live by faith.
