You Want Proof?

Matthew 11:1-9
“Are you the one?” It is a question we may have all considered. Whether we have said the words or not, we have pondered, “Is Jesus really the One, the Savior of the world, the promised Messiah, the Son of God?”
Jesus’ response to John is subtle yet powerful, “The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor” (Matthew 11:5). It is as if Jesus was saying, “Open your heart and mind, man! Look at what is going on. Blind people see, the crippled strut about like athletes, lepers are not only healed they are restored to their families, the deaf hear heavenly things, those with no life have new life, and the poor are finally getting some good news!”
Today, this very day, outcasts are being welcomed home, and the poor are still blessed with good news. Jesus has come, and that still changes everything!
