A Promise

Hebrews 6:13-20
We all have known someone whose word is no good. They make promises and break them as if they meant nothing. Then there are others who keep their word; they have high character and can be trusted.
There was a woman at my church who always kept her word. If she said she would do something then no one gave it a second thought because they knew it would not only get done, but it would be done right. When she volunteered to organize the teens’ bake sale, no one doubted. However, on the scheduled “baking day” the woman became extremely ill and had to be hospitalized. Obviously, the woman could no longer help. Through no fault of her own, she was sick and could not keep her promise. Even with the best intentions and motives, we are all human, and not always able to keep our promises.
The good news is that God can’t break a promise! Let that sink in, GOD CAN NOT BREAK A PROMISE! That means He is more powerful than bad weather, car issues, or any sickness! When God makes a promise it is absolute.
