Being A Helper
November 20th, 2021
Hebrews 6:4-12
At a food ministry I have been able to help with recently, the people receiving the food are so incredibly grateful. They often thank us for our volunteering. We simply reply that we enjoy showing God’s love to everyone around us. The food ministry is just one way we can do that.
Hebrews 6:7 reminds us that we are to produce a “crop” that is useful. Let us remember to be useful to the Lord and help those around us. How can we help? Look around at those in your community. Do they need a friend or someone to talk to? Are there physical needs like food, clothing, or shelter?
There are so many ways, both big and small, that we can help others. Sometimes that means writing a note or making a phone call to someone when we are thinking about them. Sometimes, it is making extra effort to supply for physical needs of those around us. It might be supporting missions and giving to the offerings that support the global Church.
Let us receive what has been promised. When we help other people, we are showing God’s love and sharing God’s love.
