The Lord of Creation Is Our Lord

John 1:1-13
We hear a lot about “rights” in our world today. We hear about human rights and the rights of a nation or a citizen. We witness controversies over the rights of individuals to become citizens of particular nations. There are the rights of parents and the rights of women and the rights of the marginalized, and the rights of individuals based upon their melanin levels. There is a place for all of these conversations; a place for debate, discussion, and the working out of what it means to live as communities who value the personhood of people.
John reminds us that the journey to a willingness to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior and a submission of belief in Christ is different for each one of us, but the invitation is the same: we are welcomed into the family of God. Unique in how God created each of us, we are unique in our journey to God, yet each of us is fully welcomed in with open arms.
As you go about your day today, may you notice the beauty of God’s diverse creation and out of that gratefulness, extend the fantastic welcome of the Lord to all whom you meet.
