Mark 4:10-20

Topping the mountain, we piled out of the taxi. Dust and dirt clung to our shoes as we made our way to the little church. Then we saw them, the bright and glorious faces of the children of Juacsapata, Peru. They were covered in dirt too, wearing the only clothes they had, preparing to eat the one balanced meal they would receive that week.

Pastora Susanna baked in an outdoor kitchen, while the group told stories and played games. Each child, even the smallest, was on their own while moms and dads worked long days in the city.

I wept as we left. I cried out to God, “This is just too much; too much death, hunger, poverty, hopelessness.” God responded with a few simple words, “Rachel, this is good soil and the seed planted here will produce a crop that is 100 times what has been planted.”

And so it was. Today the community is thriving. God and His church transformed that little place. Never underestimate what God can do in what looks like impossible dirt.

As time goes on, I am less and less impressed with the editorial staff that puts all of this together. For the second day in a row, the scripture reading specified is from Mark 24. In the Bible, Mark has only 16 chapters. How are those of us who use this website as a basis for devotional thought supposed to know what scripture to read if you keep posting bad information.

The correct passage is Mark 4:10-20.

Why do my devotionals arrive for a while ? Then they stop. I can’t count how many emails I have sent saying that I’m not receiving the devotionals. I will receive them for a while. Then they will stop again. Vicious cycle. Please help.

It does look like Mark 4 is the correct reference.

I realize the emails may not arrive each day. However, just go to reflectinggod.com and you will have them all. I am just an everyday reader, not on staff.
