Words of Affirmation
January 6th, 2021
Mark 1:9-20
Rachel’s wedding day had finally come and her dad stood next to Chad giving him some final words of wisdom. He leaned in and said, “Now she is my daughter and I have spoiled her, so if you want to get out of this, you better do it now.” She’s glad Chad chose to marry her anyway.
Though her dad’s words were said in jest, they came from a deeper heart of caring. Often her dad will text her with the words “I am so proud of you.” His words of affirmation encourage her heart and drive her on in her calling as a pastor.
Jesus was preparing for the greatest calling of all time. He, the Son of God, was journeying out into a world which needed saving. All that was to come was riding on His obedience to the Father, even to death on a cross. God is a God of affirming what is good and true, moving His people toward His mission.
Is it possible today that you have been seeking the affirmation of the world, instead of the One who matters most? Listen closely today, how is the Father affirming you?

Amen! May our words of affirmation be that He has called us His children. Oh, what a privilege! “Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God.” 1 John 3:1 NKJV Glory to our Father in Heaven.

I am very pleased ( like my my retired pastor wife) sister that per Eph 4, you as a female member of the body of Christ has received the gift of pastor. I will add that it is critical that true Biblical equality per pre Gen 3 includes complete equality in the home and work force. I have your six covered in prayer. You go girl!
