Acts 17:1-15

We live in a day and age where most people have no interest in hearing any word of correction or redirection. The time in Acts 17 was no different. There were two distinct reactions to Paul’s preaching the Word of God in Thessalonica and Berea. There were those who accepted the Good News and those who went out of their way to keep anyone from believing it. Those who believed went on to a personal relationship with the one true God. However, those who went out of their way to cause trouble not only kept themselves from that personal relationship, but caused others to miss out as well.

We must be careful! Far too often people get upset over hearing correction or direction from God. Instead of repenting, they vent to other people around them. Negative behavior and talk spreads like wildfire; it is not what God has called His people to. As Christians, we are called to open our hearts to God. When we allow Him to work in and through us, He transforms us to be more and more like Him. Are you willing to allow God to shape your life?
