Psalm 60:1-12

Many of us know what it is like to walk with God, and sadly, many of us also know what it is like to walk without Him. Perhaps you can recall times when God has rescued and delivered you. Why, then, do we sometimes stop short of declaring that He is the One who has rescued us?

Even when we know beyond a doubt what the Lord has done, we are sometimes reluctant to share it. However, God deserves our public proclamation. We should acknowledge Him with banners of praise unfurled! Remember what Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 10:32-33: “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.” When we have experienced victory from the hand of God, we are keenly aware of how vulnerable we are without Him.

If we continue to praise God for our victories, it may help us to remember our dependence on Him.
