Finger-Pointing

Psalm 21:1-13
We love to get the credit, but taking the blame–not so much. There is something deep within our humanity that loves to blame others. When things go well, we will often accept recognition, but when things go badly, we tend to point the finger at the “real” culprit.
In Psalm 21, King David rightly gave God the glory by refusing to accept credit for his victories; he clearly identified God as the source of his success. In Psalm 20 King David reflected, “Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm” (Psalm 20:6-9).
It is important for us to recognize God as our source. Although God still expects us to do our part, we must remember that the victory is His.
