A Plan Fulfilled

1 Peter 1:3-12
Do you ever make plans? I do! We decide what we are going to eat for our next meal or imagine how much better life will be in the future. The problem is we do not actually know if any of that will happen. When our plans do not turn out the way we expect, we worry and stress until we “solve” the problem.
God knows everything. He does not have to worry whether it will work either, because His plans are perfect. When His beloved creation exercised their free will and broke away from a perfect relationship with Him, He immediately set in motion a plan to save and redeem humankind and thus restore their relationship with Him.
The plan was to let His Son offer himself for the transgressions of the world. All we need to do is turn away from sin and accept Jesus Christ as our Savior. God has accomplished His part of the plan. The only thing we have to do is receive His offer of restored relationship and begin our new lives in Him.
