Delightful Forgiveness

Micah 7:14-20

Here we see the wonder of a God who forgives and tempers His anger with mercy. There is a cadre of perceptions about God and His nature that stem from how people read Scripture. Yet, over and over again in the passages we have read this week we are reminded that God is not one to be trifled with, but He is also one who is full of grace, mercy, compassion, and forgiveness.

Your perception of God may be one influenced by the perception that God is always in a state of seeking to punish or correct you. Perhaps you never get the feeling that you can just delight and rest in God’s incredible forgiveness. This could be due to your inability to forgive yourself or someone else, or your struggle with seeing God as one who truly “pardons sin and forgives . . . transgression.”

The impasse you may feel in your spirit is not necessary. It keeps you from living in the liberty God designed for you. God loves you. He really does.
