Why We Live Like We Live

1 Timothy 4:6-16

Animal behavior fascinates me. I have watched animals do certain things and wondered why they do what they do. Have you ever had a hamster as a pet? One of the things that these creatures love to do is get on a running wheel and run and run. Yet, they never reach a destination. Why do they keep running? Is it for exercise, exploration, or to lose weight? Seems like a lot of work for nothing.

If you didn’t know it, the Christian life takes work and discipline. You can’t surrender your heart to Christ and then set your life on cruise control. Following in the footsteps of Christ and obeying his Word takes a commitment to living a godly life through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our salvation comes through faith, but the Christian life is lived out through our actions. There are times when living the “godly life” may take all we have–mind, body, and soul. At these times remember that we do not “strive or labor” in vain. Unlike the hamster, we do not travel a path to nowhere. We persevere because we have a hope in “the living God”!

I have trouble going through all the church information. I heard I could listen to
Steve Redmond”s current sermon (pastor Naz church of Castro Valley) . I
found only a short sermon to read. Do you send sound? Can I get sermons from the local church?
