If you travel through neighborhoods across the country, you will undoubtedly find a sign posted on a fence that reads “Beware of dog.” This sign is hung to indicate to those on the outside that if they cross the boundary, they may find themselves encountering a canine they don’t want to meet. Wouldn’t it be nice if life had signs like this? For instance, you go to buy a used car and hung on the window is “Beware of faulty transmission.” If this were to happen, it would save people a lot of time, money, and heartache.

In 1 Timothy 3:15–4:5, Paul is warning Timothy to beware of false teaching. There were those in Timothy’s day who said things like marriage and eating certain foods were forbidden. However, Paul reminds him that whatever God created is good, and we should be thankful for all that God has given.

The message for us today is that we who “believe and know the truth” should value God’s creation with honor and respect.

Take time to thank God today for all he has created!
