Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a storm and didn’t quite know what to do next? I don’t mean the type of storm where there is lightning, thunder, wind, and rain. I am talking about a storm where one thing after another seems to be going wrong.

It was the evening of the day that Jesus was raised from the dead. His disciples were hunkered down in the Upper Room. The door was locked and each of them feared they would be found out and subsequently turned in as followers of Jesus. Every creaking noise on the steps that led up to their hideout was reason for their hearts to beat faster. Suddenly, Jesus appeared in the midst of this fearful group, and his presence changed everything!

If you find yourself in the middle of a storm today, just remember that it is just like Jesus to show up in the middle of our storms, in our locked rooms of fear. And, his message is still the same, “Peace be with you.”
