Communicating with the Spirit

December 5th, 2011

RG AUDIO 120511Luke 1:39-56

Nowadays culture, language, prejudice, organization differences, and cultural differences make it a challenge to communicate effectively. However, God’s great dreams are often expressed in his follower’s words. How can we communicate well and be a vehicle for God’s dreams? Elizabeth and Mary show us the way.

In Luke 1:43, Elizabeth called Mary “the mother of my Lord.” Ironically, Mary was a virgin. If her pregnancy was made public, according to the law, she would have been stoned to death. In spite of this Elizabeth blessed Mary by calling her “the mother of my Lord.” How could Elizabeth have known this? The answer is found in verse 41, “Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” Nobody could have known Mary’s child was Divine. It was only possible through God’s Spirit.

God can make the seemingly impossible become possible.
