Are You Ready?

Matthew 3:1-12
I’m not sure we are ever ready for everything God wants to do in our lives. Zechariah and Elizabeth were not ready to have a child in their later years, but experienced God’s miracle in their lives by saying “yes” to God’s will. Joseph and Mary were not ready to become pregnant with the Christ child through divine intervention and endure the whispers and rumors of unbelieving family members and friends. They, too, experienced a miracle in their lives by saying “yes” to God’s will.
At just the right time, John the Baptist was ready as he became God’s spokesman to prepare the way for Christ to find public acceptance and validate his ministry. And at just the right time, Christ works in our lives to save us from our sins.
Do you need a miracle in your life? Are you willing to say “yes” to God’s will and way? God not only wants to forgive our sins, but fill us with his refining Spirit.
