Are You Amazed?

Luke 2:21-25
We often forget that Joseph and Mary were nothing short of amazed that God chose them to be the earthly parents of the Christ child. Mary was more than amazed when the angel Gabriel appeared to tell her she would conceive, as a virgin, through the power of the Holy Spirit and give birth to a son who would be the Savior of the world!
Joseph was truly amazed when the angel of the Lord told him in a dream that Mary had not been unfaithful, but was now pregnant through the Holy Spirit’s work. They both must have been incredibly amazed to learn their baby boy would be named Jesus “because he will save his people from their sins” (Matt. 1:21).
Simeon was also amazed when he saw the Christ child for the very first time. He knew that help was on the way, the answer was just around the corner, the remedy for sin was now provided.
To realize that God loved you while you were still a sinner is truly amazing.
