Remembering Deliverance
July 19th, 2010
Our mind often plays tricks on us. Have you ever asked a group of people to retell their perspective of some incident? Memories are a tricky thing. Sometimes we can’t remember all the details of an event. We forget who was there or the time of day.
Still, some events are forever sealed in our collective memories. We can remember where we were when a man landed on the moon, when President Kennedy was shot, and during the tragic events of September 11, 2001. In the words of Nat King Cole, some things, like people, are “Unforgettable”!
If our bondage is unforgettable, how much more so our deliverance. If we should prosper or enjoy fame and fortune, deliverance reminds us that God has brought us a long way. Remembering is the worshipful act of reciting God’s ability to hear and be compassionate. In remembering God’s deliverance, we ensure that every generation will have a witness to God’s faithfulness.
