Acts 2:33-41

The university in our neighborhood is home to more than 2,500 international students, most from gospel-resistant nations like Saudi Arabia, China, Oman, United Arab Emirates, and Iraq. When God led a missionary from Costa Rica to volunteer with us, we never dreamed she would quickly build friendships with a group of young women from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman.

The interesting piece to this story is that we had started earlier making our own plans of how to connect with university students. Many of our plans were what most traditional ministry plans might look like. They didn’t include things like teaching young middle-eastern women how to play ping-pong or offering Bible studies that paralleled portions of the Quran. We learned quickly the importance of saturating every day in prayer and patiently discerning where the Holy Spirit was at work in the lives of university students.

God is at work, moving in the lives of people in your community who need the hope of Jesus. Can you hear Him leading you into the life of someone who needs Him?
