Hope In Transformation

1 Peter 1:13-25
What is Christian hope? Our hope as followers of Christ is that something new will come out of something old. We hope that something broken will be made whole. Our hope in Christ is that you and I, broken and fallen people, can be made righteous, grow in that righteousness and actually, really, truly, be made more like Christ as we are obedient. We aren’t just seen as righteous. We aren’t merely forgiven to be forgiven again and again. Rather, we are forgiven to experience sanctification, to live in holiness.
Living in holiness is a hopeful way to journey. But it isn’t just hopeful it is love filled. As we walk with Jesus we find that we are becoming more like him. As we are made more like him we love more, because God is love. Instead of being conformed to the ways of this world that are formed by selfishness and violence we are conformed to Christ. This conformity transforms us into the people we were created to be. Are we the people of this Christian hope?
