Psalm 25:1-22

In times of trouble we hope. We hope that God will save, that God will protect, that God will win. The psalmist reminds us that to be people of hope we need to be doing something in the good and bad times of life, “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior and my hope is in you all day long” (Psalm 25:5, emphasis added).

We need to remember that without a teachable spirit we won’t be the people God has called us to be. In fact we won’t have the hope that sustains and enables. The Holy Spirit longs to speak to us. But, are we so certain of our knowledge that there is no room to learn? God has brought all sorts of people around us we can learn from, but are we so set in our ways that we aren’t listening to others? We are meant to continually learn but are we so sure we have it all right that we won’t listen to the young and the old, those like us and those different than us? Let Psalm 25 be your prayer today.
