The Transforming Encounter

Job 42:1-6

Job had heard great things about God, but now that he has a face-to-face encounter he realizes his arrogance and sinfulness. God once called Job a righteous man, but when Job actually saw the living God all he could think about was repentance.

How many times do we judge God because we do not understand him? How many do not believe in God because they do not understand his ways? Why do we feel righteous enough to question God?

Job’s trials allowed him to not only know God, but to experience him. Even though he feared God it was only through his trials that he really understood God. After the trials, after God points out Job’s rebellious attitude, God still loves Job and still wants Job as his child.

Give your problem to God. He’s the controller of all things. Remember, nothing can happen to you today, or any other day, that God is not aware of, in control of, and able to bring you through.

Maybe “the transforming encounter” is the reason 2 Chronicles 7:14 suggests us to “seek HIS face.”
