Job 42:7-17

Welcome to Reflecting God.

It is interesting that God restored twice as much to Job after he prayed on behalf of his friends. God not only gave Job the characteristics of faith, humility, repentance, and submission, God also gave him forgiveness toward others. Job did more than simply forgive; he interceded for them. God wants us to pray for those who hurt us. God is all powerful and forgiving. He can move upon their hearts. They may someday apologize, but if not, we still must pray.

Is God bringing to your mind someone for whom you need to pray? Why not pause right now and pray for them.

Dear Lord, you taught us “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me” (Matt. 5:11). May my heart be trained so that my first instinct when someone wrongs me is to lay that person before you in prayer. Amen.
